Views from the Shard

Despite the fact  i’ve called London my home for many years now, it’s embarrassing how little of the city i’ve explored. Seeing as the weather has been such a delight over the past couple of weeks, it seemed like the perfect time to observe my hometown from above. Visiting the observation deck at the Shard wasn’t exactly where I envisaged my quest beginning but after a huge lunch in Bermondsey with it looming in all it’s glassy, asymmetrical glory, I thought it could be sort of..a laugh. Whilst I wouldn’t exactly call the experience a scream, it was pretty funny in a classic, ironic sort of way. If you’re in the area then you could possibly find worse ways to spend thirty minutes of your life but I recommend visiting some of the Churches in Spitalfields or the art deco interior of Eltham Palace before you shell out the £30. Luckily for me, it wasn’t at all busy when I visited..unluckily for them, there’s probably a reason…
