Finn Mc’Cools – Teignmouth is well worth a visit if you’re in the area. Its all blue rinses, bingo, pebbled beaches, high fructose hard boiled treats and delicious fish and chips. Wonderfully kitsch and straight out of a Martin Parr photograph I couldn’t resist sharing what was one of the best days out i’ve had in a while.
Old fruit machines at the pier
‘Auntie Betty’, the old lady who would babysit me as a child would collect tokens from Marmalade jars for the miniature figurine versions of these little guys however I thought they had been banned years ago.
Sticks of rock – Rhubarb and Custard are my favourite
Royal Wedding fudge
The Best fish and chips i’ve ever had. The batter was unbelievably light and crispy whilst the fish was perfect – clean and white. Unfortunately mushy peas are one of the only foods in the world I can’t bring myself to eat. Pure filth.
Gravy and curry sauce for the chips. Together of course – When a junk food craving calls, I should probably own up and tell you that this is kind of my thing.
Perfect cup of tea
The floury yet ever so slightly soggy chips call for plenty of vinegar
